The Autumn Table

Setting a table with a living runner — one of my signature moves anytime fruiting branches are within arms reach...

Clip short branches of ripe fruit, wash/dry, and lay them in an organic pattern in the middle of a long table. Sprinkle in tapers and votives. Fallen fruits can be used at each setting. Also works in a wreath format on a round table.

Fuyu persimmons (shown here/gifted by a sweet friend) are easy to style with because they are flat and squat. Edible or flowering vines such as tomato/tomatillo and passionfruit vines are also excellent, not to mention fragrant! The very best part is that the fruits can be saved and eaten afterwards (unlike traditional floral arrangements or garlands)... making it a sustainable practice...
